The simple hack to stop the dots that appear when you shave before fake tanning

When you're busy, beauty prep can fall by the wayside...

This means that our plans to do a whole body tan from head to toe the night before is often shortened to a frantic swipe of a mitt with whatever instant stuff you find handy. It's not always possible to wax or shave twenty-four hours before tanning, which means that we get those dreaded icky brown spots when the product settles into our freshly-shaved pores. However, this simple hack eradicates the problem and allows you to shave and tan in one night - and still look flawless. Who knew that the only thing you actually need to avoid those pain-in-the-ass bumps is something you almost definitely have in the kitchen freezer. When you're all smooth and clean-shaven and just out of the shower, head to the freezer and grab a bag of frozen peas. Yep, peas, simple as that. Run them all over your legs and pat dry with a towel and then immediately apply your tanning product of choice. Tanning expert James Read tells Byrdie:
