Well, we can honestly say that this is the weirdest bit of news that we’ve come across today. Question: how do you help tackle the problem of loneliness in one of the world’s largest cities? Answer: you build a jacket that can give hugs.
Kotaku.com is reporting that student from the University of Tsukuba in Japan have found an interesting way of comforting the many lonely people in the world. They’ve designed a coat that gives you cuddles and whispers sweet nothings in your ear.
The ‘Riajyuu Coat’is being aimed at young men and was created specifically for those unlucky in love. The piece of clothing, which looks like a totally normal coat mind you, offers men the sensation of being hugged from behind by a ‘girlfriend.’ The coat also features the voice of a young woman who will murmer to whoever wears it.
Creepy or what?

The coat is said to mimic the feeling of a real hug
It goes without saying that this bit of news is so random and bizarre that there has already been a fair bit of speculation online as to whether or not the coat actually exists.
Given the fact that Japan is known for creating robot girlfriends and robotic bum cheeks that can feel pain, we’d say there’s about a 99.9 per cent chance that Riajyuu coats have the potential to become the next big thing in fashion...
