Grace’s Choice: We’ve Found Our New Night Time Hotspot

Grace says: Irish rugby internationals Sean O’ Brien, Jamie Heaslip and brothers Dave and Rob Kearney joined forces with well-known Dublin publican Noel Anderson for their latest business venture. The Bridge 1859 opened its door to the public on Thursday and I had the opportunity to have a sneak peek to see what all the fuss was about. Dave provided a guided tour and ladies, I can’t urge you enjoy to go and give it a try… (pun intended).

Cathy’s Choice: Daughters and Their Dads…

Cathy says: This piece is dedicated to Dads and why they’re great. From making us laugh to helping in a crisis, the phrase “daddy’s girl” exists for a reason. There’s plenty more things to celebrate about Dads but if we included everything, we ‘d still be writing. We did our best though, here’s to you Dad!

Michelle’s Choice: The Absolute Fear

Michelle says: It could be argued that our national broadcaster has a less than exemplary record when it comes to comedy shows, but The Fear is exceptional. The prank show had us splitting our sides last season and if this teaser is anything to go by the new series has similar hits in store. This prank, released to promote the upcoming series, had the entire Her.ie team shrieking with laughter. More of this please.

Rebecca’s Choice: Pop The Question, Drop the Ring

Rebecca says: At the weekend this video of a marriage proposal going wrong brought a smile to my face. Before you think I’m being mean, I just smiled because I was in shock. Of course I hope they found the ring and end up living happily ever after but I just thought, this is something I (as someone who has trouble standing on their own two feet) would do.

Liz’ Choice: The Freshest Fresher of Them All

Liz says: I was so awkward and nervous starting college. Yes, I knew I’d be ok and make friends, but it doesn’t stop the dread of starting out afresh. And if you’re a little quirky (I of course, really am totally normal… most of the time) there’s always the moment of truth. Will they get my humour? Are my clothes a little crazy? Or personally, how will they take to my laugh?

This week, I fell for the hilarious talents of fresher Thomas Rees and the work he put into creating an introduction video. I’ve no doubt he’s going to be a huge hit on campus. Largely due to his natural comedic timing.

Marie’s Choice:

Marie says: After a lovely summer, I was delighted to see the return of the autumnal weather this week as it means we are getting closer to my favourite day of the year, Christmas.

Unfortunately, a new study has also found that September is the second ‘fattest’ month of the year and most of us will be packing on a few pounds over the next few weeks. That said, I’ll be using this very handy research as a ‘get out of jail free’ card for all those calories consumed while munching during the X Factor!

Mary’s Choice: The First Heartbreak

Mary says:  Heartbreak – we’ve all been there, and we all know just how tough it can be. But four-year-old Milo felt the pain more than most when he learned that his crush had a new friend.

This video will move you to tears as the little cutie tries to come to terms with the big bad world he is now living in…
