Having a lazy Sunday? Kick back, pour yourself a cuppa and enjoy Team Her.ie’s favourite reads of the week.

Though it’s a tough task, given how many fantastic stories we’ve come across in the past seven days, each of us here at Her.ie have chosen one of our favourite picks from the week, gathered together in one handy collection. Enjoy!

Liz’s Choice: Barking Mad

Liz says: It’s fair to say I was a BIG Dawson’s Creek fan, and no it wasn’t just for the years of fun we’d have with that meme cry-face. The Pacey – Dawson – Joey triangle was real, and along with the most overworked dialogue ever to grace a teenage drama, we had a soft spot for all things Capeside.

Now there’s Daschund’s Creek, complete with adorable puppies, hair wigs and voiceovers from some of the first season’s greatest moments.

I just hope they stick around for season two…

Cathy’s Choice: Take Us Back…

Cathy says: I’ve always been a huge Enid Blyton fan so my excitement levels went into overdrive after hearing the Magic Faraway Tree books are to be made into a film. Call me a big kid if you like, but at the end of the day there’s a lot to be said for a book that introduces a Land of Cakes. If you haven’t already read them, do it now. You’re never too old to enjoy Enid Blyton in my opinion.

Mary’s Choice: Aunt Fantastic

Mary says: Last February, I had my heart stolen by my beautiful little niece Alannah and eight months on, I’m loving being an aunt to the little cutie more and more each day. I can’t wait for the day that we join mischievous forces and drive my sister bonkers!

Michelle’s Choice: You’re Just Not That Into Him

Michelle says: I’m in a long-term relationship and consider myself very lucky to have a happy partnership to go through life in. Still, I LOVE living variously through my single friends and thrive on dating dilemmas, Tinder horror stories and hookup followups. So, I really enjoyed reading this piece about the signs that show you’re really not that into him. In future when I need to get that message across to some friends, I’m just going to send on this link.

Rebecca’s Choice: A Lasting Love

Rebecca says: While this story broke my heart (and almost made me cry at my desk in the office), it is my favourite story of the week purely because I think it’s so lovely that they were married for so long and were still so in love. Also, it’s fitting that they passed away together.

Grace’s Choice: Water – It Does Not Fall From the Sky

Grace says: Live television is daunting and it just isn’t for everyone. This week Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway was caught on the hop during a discussion on water charged during Tonight With Vincent Browne. Conway told Browne that he has always believed that water is a “finite resource”, but what happened next made for absolute television gold… He’ll never live this one down!

Marie’s Choice: Holidays Are Coming, Holidays Are Coming…

Marie says: As any of my friends will tell you, I am a Christmas fiend. I’m completely and utterly obsessed and insist on inflicting the joys of the festive season on all around me, however unwilling they may be. So, I was very exciting to see that St Stephen’s Green is to be turned into an amazing Christmas Market this year, with everything from festive foods to gift ideas. Better still, it’s opening in a few weeks.
