This image of the Bulmers orchard after Ophelia is incredible

Ophelia

Wow.

Ex-hurricane Ophelia left a path of destruction in Ireland last week. Hundreds of thousands of houses were left without power, trees were blown over and some schools were forced to close for a few days.

One place, in particular, that felt the force of Ophelia was the Bulmers orchard. The winds caused a lot of the apples to fall off the trees. And when we say a lot, we mean a lot. As in, nearly all of them.

Local photographer Jonathan Ryan, of Tipperary Photos, captured a photo of the orchard after the storm had passed showing the carpet of apples that covered the field.

It’s an incredible photo.

Jonathan said that the River Suir broke its banks and filled up the orchard and when it receded it left all the apples gathered together perfectly on the ground.

It leaves us with one question – will there be enough Bulmers if all the apples have fallen prematurely?
