Aine wrote the piece at 1am and initially had reservations about publishing it. She was worried about opening up about something so personal but has been astounded by the reaction. She says,
“I really couldn’t believe the reaction I got. People were so kind and supportive and I think they just appreciated the honesty. A lot of women go through unplanned pregnancies and it’s just something that’s not talked about very often. It can give someone a lot of comfort knowing that they’re not the only one who’s gone through something that traumatic and gotten through it”.
Aine hopes that her writing will continue to make people smile. She says,
“I think I would just love to see people getting as much enjoyment out of reading my blog as I do writing it. If people can take something from it when they close their laptop – whether it’s inspired them somehow, made them think about it long after they read it, moved them, or just made them laugh out loud – then I’ll be happy”.
