Instagram is about to make it much easier for you to procrastinate

Carl Kinsella

Sometimes, creeping on somebody’s Instagram is a matter of urgency.

It looks like the folks at the photo-sharing app understand this, because they’ll be updating their app to allow users to scroll through their friend’s photos even while offline.

Now instead of seeing nothing but blank spaces when you’re disconnected from the internet, users will be able to see photos on profiles that they’ve loaded before — as well as previously loaded photos in the newsfeed. As for likes and comments, they’ll process once you reconnect to the internet.

The development was announced at Facebook’s F8 conference during the week by an Instagram engineer.

The bad news is that this update will only be available on Android phones for now — though TechCrunch has reported that Instagram are exploring a similar offline mode for iOS devices.
