Chris Greene and Ciara King of iRadio have been confirmed as the latest additions to the new 2FM line-up.

The pair, who left the regional station last month after two years of presenting the popular Cracked i programme, will take on a new late night slot as part of boss Dan Healy’s reinvigoration of the station. The new show will run from 10pm to 1am and will be called Bottom of the Barrel, with Healy noting that the addition of the controversial duo marked “a new departure for the station and sees a real articulation of where we’re driving content right to the edge!”.

While rumours of the pair’s appointment had been circulating in recent weeks, Greene had previously dismissed them by joking that he and King would be “focusing on a career in pornography”. However, the pair confirmed the news in a series of posts on Twitter this afternoon.

Weekend presenter Louise McSharry has also been confirmed for an 8pm to 10pm weekday slot, with Dave Fanning presenting a weekend show from 10am to 12pm. Bernard O’Shea, Keith Walsh and Jennifer Maguire were last week revealed as the new 2fm breakfast presenters, while Nicky Byrne’s show will air weekdays from 11am. Colm Hayes is presenting Drive By with Colm Hayes and Will Leahy is moving to weekends. Larry Gogan will present a new two-hour show at weekends, while sports show Game On continues at 7pm daily.

“These two night time programmes will be all about fast paced, high octane content that pushes boundaries and captures the buzz of the now across radio, social media and more importantly the lives of our listeners. Dave Fanning has been with 2fm since day one. He’s an icon in his own right with utter credibility across all demographics. Crucially Dave resonates with the 20-44 target audience for the station and his two weekend programmes will really allow him to build on this connection with listeners,” said Healy.
