Lucy Kennedy is back in action.
The 36-year-old presenter has been keeping a low profile since her weekend show with Baz Ashmawy on 2fm was axed in June of last year, preferring instead to focus on family life after the birth of her second child.
Lucy and her husband welcomed baby Holly in April of last year, a younger sister to their son Jack. Nine months on she is set to appear on our TV screens again, fronting a new show about parenting.
Work began on the show late last year, and the first episode will air on RTÉ 2 on February 4th. Kennedy first fronted an RTÉ show back in 2004, The Ex Files, and went on to become a household name after her stints on Podge and Rodge and Livin’ with Lucy.
Adare Productions are the company behind the as yet unnamed show, and today they took to Twitter to share the first snap from the programme, with the caption “Coming 4th Feb RTE Two. Lucy's back with a parenting show. 2 families share a home, 1 Week, 13 Robotic Cameras. Ouch!”
The plans to get back in front of the camera may have had some influence on Kennedy’s post-pregnancy diet; the presenter faced criticism in November of last year after revealing to one Irish newspaper that she was limiting her calories to only 500 per day, a quarter of the average recommended intake for women.
