They might be the stars of the show but it seems that Torvill and Dean aren’t even sure if Dancing on Ice will return for another series.
The skating duo, who recently admitted to having a brief romance when they were younger, revealed today that they’re not sure the show will be back.
Torvill and Dean are the coaches on the show.
Christopher Dean told the Daily Star on Sunday: “To be honest, we don’t know if we will be back next year. We’ve not been told it’s getting axed, so we hope it isn’t.”
He added: “We are very hopeful we will be back for the ninth series next year and then the tenth year after that.”
This year's series is the eighth and could be the last.
While both he and Jayne Torvill admit that the viewing figures have taken a hit, they believe this is the case for everyone.
“Ratings are down across the board. There are so many channels and so much choice nowadays,” Christopher insisted.
The most recent series, which returns this evening, is really starting to heat up with celebrities including Samia Ghadie and Gareth Thomas still in the competition.
