It was only a matter of time before he was asked.
Following the news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce, all eyes were on Brad’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston and what she had to say about it. They broke up after Brad and Angelina fell for each other while shooting the 2005 Mr and Mrs Smith movie.
While a source revealed that she said, “Well, that’s karma for you,” she hasn’t said much else, which isn’t surprising considering she has previously said that she doesn’t like to gossip.
But now someone has managed to ask Jennifer’s husband Justin Theroux what he thinks of the breakup.
He was speaking with Business Insider to promote his new movie Girl on the Train when he was asked about their split.
He said, “As a child of divorce, all I can say is that’s terrible news for those children, and that’s all you can really say.It’s boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time. That’s horrible.”
He also added, “There’s an endless appetite for trash, apparently — though everyone would say that they don’t have that appetite. But I think a lot of people do because people buy it.”
Speaking about the coverage the breakup has received he said, “But there are bigger things to bitch about. It’s shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world.”
He married Jennifer just last year and recently spoke about what makes their relationship work so well saying, “We appreciate each other’s sense of humour, we respect one another and we get along. I know it sounds simple – but it’s true!”
