Embarrassing moments – we all have them and when we’re dehydrated we tend to have even more of them. This is because dehydration causes us to lose our mental focus and do silly things.
For the next six weeks we’re teaming up with Deep RiverRock to have a look at some of the most embarrassing things that can happen to us and, more importantly, how to recover from these awkward instances.
You can recover from any mortifying moment, but if you’d like to try and avoid them completely, it’s worth keeping yourself hydrated so your wits are always in tip-top condition.
Remember: the human body is made up of at least 60 per cent water. So stay hydrated and keep your cool no matter what happens!
___________
That awkward moment when... you accidentally send a text meant for your BFF to everyone in your contacts list
![]()
"Undo! UNDO!!!"
You and your bestie are having a chat about that fella who you have a massive crush on. It’s a little awkward though because he’s one of your friends and you’ve just realised your feelings for him (aw, young love!).
You had a tough day at work and you’re wrecked tired. You also have a splitting headache. However, you’re having too much fun texting your friend about your “future husband” to go and get yourself a glass of water.
You type out a message to your friend stating that you hope your crush will ask you out, marry you and become the father to your children. It’s only after you hit the ‘send’ button that you realise you accidentally selected ‘send to all.’ Uh-oh...
How to cope:
Once you’ve recovered from the shock of doing something so mortifying, immediately go into damage control. Text back everyone and come up with an excuse. Example: “Oh my God, sorry for that text! My little brother/older sister stole my phone and this is their idea of a joke.” Or just ask your bestie if you can blame her (hey, a good friend would oblidge!).
Remember: before you start texting embarrassing things to your friend, make sure you’re hydrated enough to avoid embarrassing technological mishaps. Your social life will thank you for it!
When you can’t think straight... hydrate.
