Kian Egan has revealed that he believes James Arthur deserves to win this year’s X Factor.
The former Westlife star, who has appeared on the show during judges’ houses in previous years and also presented a few episodes of Xtra Factor, is backing the soulful singer.
“I think he’s probably one of the most unique artists that’s been on so far and I really think he deserves to win the show,” he explained.
Kian thinks James is the best contestant this year and wants him to win.
However Kian also said that there were a few other standout contestants too: “There are some other good people on there. I think Ella Henderson started off very strong and Rylan’s brilliant.
“I don’t think there’s ever been anybody like him on this show, so he deserves to be there – even if he isn’t one of the best singers in the world,” he added.
Not sure that will go down too well with Simon Cowell, which could be an issue if Kian were to be approached about being on the talent show.
Louis brought Kian into the show to help him at the judges' houses stage.
Speaking to the Irish Sun the 32-year-old singer, who has done a lot of television work recently including The Voice of Ireland and Surprise Surprise admitted he would love to be a judge on it.
“Being on the X Factor judging panel would be an amazing gig and something I would thoroughly enjoy.”
Although he’s not too keen to replace his former manager: “I would hate to replace Louis Walsh. That would never be my intention.”
Who knows, with all the criticism the show has been getting this year, it could be time to introduce a few new faces?
