Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith team up to save the Amazon rainforest – with runners

Jade Hayden

Fair play.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith are teaming up to save the Amazon rainforest – by selling runners.

The stars, who have expressed much concern for climate change and the ravaged environment over the past few years, are launching two new pairs of trainers to raise money for DiCaprio’s Amazon Rainforest Fund.

Shoe and sock company Allbirds, which boasts Leo as one of its key investors, and Will’s sustainable water brand JUST have come together to create the limited edition shoes – the profits of which will go entirely to saving the rainforest.

The runners start at €105 with the toppers costing €127.

All of the money raised from the sales will go directly to helping the Amazon rainforest that has been ravaged by fires for almost one month.

“There is only one Mother Earth, and it’s on us to protect her,” Smith said. “The Brazilian Amazon, our largest carbon sink, has now been burning for a month.”

“We source JUST sugarcane caps from Brazil, so this hits especially close to home.

“Collaborating with businesses who are creating innovative, sustainable solutions are the key to our future, and it’s important that we support those brands who give back more than they take.”
