Lily-Rose Depp Has Just Made Some Clarifications About Her Sexuality

Cassie Delaney

Daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Depp is a successful model in her own right.

She made headlines last year when she apparently came out through an Instagram post. The 16-year-old had participated in a photoshoot by The Self Evident Truths project, a “photographic record of 10k people in the US who are ANYWHERE on the LGBTQI spectrum.”

The media who took it as her coming out announcement misconstrued Lily-Rose’s appearance in the image.

“I was literally doing it just to say that you don’t have to label your sexuality; so many kids these days are not labeling their sexuality and I think that’s so cool,” She clarified in Nylon magazine.

“I guess it came off the wrong way because then everyone labeled me as gay,” she added. “That’s not what I was trying to say. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course! But I did that literally just to say you don’t have to label yourself, and then everyone was like, ‘Lily Rose Depp comes out as gay!'”

She continued to claim that her sexuality is, in fact, nobody’s business and that she would date whoever she so wished.

Her father was outspoken in his support of his daughter’s involvement in the shoot.

“She’s a sharp kid and one of the smartest human beings I have ever met,” he said.
