There are so many films on TV on a weekly basis, we thought we would draw your attention to some of the better movies that you can check out from the comfort of your own home. Here are seven of the best films that are on TV this week.
1. Pirates of the Caribbean, Monday, BBC1, 8pm.
Yes we know that the latter films were far from great but the original Pirates of the Caribbean was just a riot, even in spite of the bad acting. Two words. Orlando Bland.
2. Stardust, Tuesday, E4, 8pm.
A young man makes a ridiculous promise that he will retrieve a fallen star for the woman he loves... It may sound silly but luckily, the cast is amazing.
3. Working Girl, Wednesday, More4, 9pm.
An oldie but a goodie. After a secretary's idea is stolen by her boss, she decides to take her down by pretending she has her job. Starring Melanie Griffith, Harrison Ford and Sigourney Weaver, this is a lot of fun.
4. Limitless, Thursday, Film4, 9pm.
Bradley Cooper plays Eddie Morra, a man who unlocks the potential of his brain by taking a mysterious pill. Although not the greatest film in the world, this is pretty entertaining.
5. District 9, Friday, RTÉ Two, 9pm.
Arguably one of the surprise flicks from 2009, District 9 tells the story of an alien race who are forced to live in slum like-conditions but find an unlikely ally. Absolutely spectacular.
6. Braveheart, Saturday, RTÉ Two, 9pm.
We know that you may have seen this film at least twenty times but it is certainly worth revisiting. Mel Gibson plays William Wallace, a Scottish hero who begins a revolt against the English.
7. The Change-Up, Sunday, Channel 4, 10.05pm.
In terms of the best comedies over the last few years, this is not really one of them but it does have two brilliant performances in the form of Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman.
