Love getting all dressed up? Here’s the best way to spend your Easter Monday

Anna Daly

Monday

Brought to you by Fairyhouse Racecourse.

Do we really need an excuse to look fabulous?

Well, we have one anyway.

If you’re like us and like to dress to the nines on any occasion possible, we suggest you get your beautifully dressed selves down to the Fairyhouse Racecourse this Easter Monday.

I mean, you know the races – absolutely filled with stylish ladies and gentlemen every time without fail – and Easter Monday is no different. In fact, it’s actually the biggest day of the year for Fairyhouse. So you can guarantee it will be just packed with stunning dresses and elaborate hats all day long.

The Easter festival at the Fairyhouse Racecourse is one of the best racing festivals of the year and culminates in the world famous BoyleSports Irish Grand National. So if you’re a fan of horse racing, you’ll have plenty of chances to see Ireland’s best racers competing for the grand title, not to mention the chance of winning a bit of money while you’re at it (yes please!).

Monday is also Ladies Day so, even if a day of watching the races doesn’t thrill you, there’ll be loads of other fun to be had. And we hear beginner’s luck can be very rewarding so you might as well throw down a couple of bob on your favourite-named horse – sure you could end up winning back the cost of your outfit – we wouldn’t say no to that!

This year’s theme is Country Chic so feel free to bust out the flannel or tartan or any other country-style clothes you may have. Perhaps you could throw on a pair of riding boots or even pick yourself up some chic wellington shoes (is there such thing? You decide).

You can be sure you won’t be alone when you show up looking stylish with your oh-so-elegant country theme (plus a hat to write home about).

Celebrity judge Una Healy, former Saturdays star, will be there to help choose this year’s best dressed along with Debbie O’Donnell, executive producer of Xposé, and Grainne Ross, Managing Director of Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa. So dress to impress because these pros will know what to look for.

In fact, Una Healy, who will be judging the Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa Most Stylish Lady, was in Dublin on Monday for the launch of the Fairyhouse Easter Festival, getting herself all set and ready to see the wonderful fashion you ladies bring to the races. That competition will be sponsored by Dunboyne castle and the winner will be jetting off for a four night stay in the lovely Bobby Hotel, Nashville (hurrah!).

Fairyhouse Racecourse aren’t ones to end without a bang so, once the races are over, pop over to the Festival Marquee where there will be live music from The Kilkennys. We told you, it’s a jam packed day.

Just the thing to get yourself out and about after having stuffed yourself with chocolate Easter eggs the day before (not that we’re judging, mind).
