This is the kind of news that makes us feel hopeful for the future.
If you spent a long time thinking about the sad state of affairs the world has gotten itself into, you’d never get anything done.
We see countless acts of racism and sexism almost daily in the news but this story comes as a welcome refresher from all the doom and gloom that is world politics at the moment.
Hend Amry tweeted a picture of a note her Muslim uncle received in the US in the midst of Trump’s inauguration, showing that humanity has not yet gone down the toilet.
In Cincinnati, Ohio, one family sent Hend’s uncle a note reassuring him that they’d support him no matter what happens in the future.
The unsigned letter reads:
“Today begins a new stage for our country.
“No matter what happens, please know there are still a lot of people who will fight for your right to practice your religion, to continue to live your lives without discrimination.’
“You are welcome in our neighbourhood and if you need anything – please knock on our door.”
After the Trump inauguration, some neighbors left this letter on my uncle's door in Cincinnati, Ohio. pic.twitter.com/jnlXewv7ej

The uplifting note surprised people and serves as a reminder that we should all be helping each other in times to come.
@LibyaLiberty That's beautiful. You all have support from France too ! 🙂

`
@LibyaLiberty That wasn’t the letter I expected to click through and read. Thanks for that.

@LibyaLiberty @MattAsherS That's very nice! I was afraid to read it at first. I guess I just expect the worse now.
