Are you missing your weekly Love/Hate fix?
Well, Nidge may be dead (we still aren’t believing it!) but his legacy is really living on strong as his famous King Nidge runners are up for grabs and could be the perfect Christmas present momento for the Love/Hate fan in your life (ie - yourself).
The producers of the hit show have donated the iconic runners - the symbol of Trish's love for her wayward husband - to the Pieta House charity in order to raise vital funds.
With over 4,800 clients, Pieta House - who provide suicide and self-harm support services - have helped people through more than 46,000 hours of counselling this year – an increase of 20% on last year. New centres in Galway, Kerry and Cork have been opened in order to cope with the rising demand and plans are in place to open new centres in Athlone, Donegal and Waterford in the coming months.
“We are so grateful to Nidge and the producers of Love/Hate for donating these iconic runners to us,” said founder and CEO of Pieta House, Joan Freeman.“This year, we’ve a shortfall of €300,000 due to an increased demand on our services so the timing of this very generous donation couldn’t be better.”
The charity is now holding a ‘text to win’ competition which will be open between now and Christmas Eve. All you have to do is text NIDGE to 57802, with texts costing €2.
“Not only will you be in with a chance of winning but you’ll also be helping Pieta House to continue to offer its vital services throughout the country.”
