Ashley is now 14- years- old and was raised by her aunt and uncle, whom she refers to as her mum and dad.
She told the parole board how she has forgiven Melissa for what she had done but she would not trust her.
“'I honestly do not trust her and I'm afraid for their safety. I can't imagine anybody being in as much pain as I was in. And now I have a great life thanks to my mom, stepdad and brothers and sisters. I do not hate Melissa, but I do not love her. I forgave Melissa”
Melissa was arrested back in 2003 after Ashley’s father heard a baby cry and came into the kitchen to find his child in the oven.
According to WFSA, Melissa, “removed the racks out of the oven, turned it to a broil and waited for it to heat up, and then put her, head first into the oven.”
