New Weather Warnings Issued For Nine Counties As Cold Spell Continues

BRRRRRRRRR.

Cathy Donohue

Met Éireann has issued a number of weather warnings for tomorrow as the current cold snap looks set to worsen.

Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo are most likely to feel the effects as the national forecaster has issued an Orange Weather Warning for these four counties.

The warning begins at midnight and extends until 11pm tomorrow and snowfall of 40mm to 80mm is expected.

A Yellow Weather Warning, with expected snowfall  of 20mm to 40mm, is in place for Monaghan, Galway, Longford, Roscommon and Cavan for the same timeframe.

As for the weekend, Mét Eireann predicts ‘severe frost’ and fog is also likely in certain areas.

Next week, things look set to change as the weather will ‘become milder and unsettled’ due to ‘weather fronts moving in from the Atlantic’.
