This year’s X Factor might be written off as a failure but it seems that there has been one gem amongst the mess in the form of Nicole Sherzinger.
Apparently Simon Cowell, who is said to be contemplating a return to the talent show next year to rescue it, is very happy with the singer’s performance. In fact rumours have it she will be the first to be offered a place on next year’s panel.
This year was Nicole's first stint on the talent show and she has done very well.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “It is fair to say that Simon and the production team have been thrilled with Nicole’s performance. She has been absolutely great.”
However the source also clarified that any decisions regarding the show will happen next year: “There won’t be any decision on the make-up of the 2013 panel until next year but she has certainly made a good impression… Simon is really up for her coming back.”
It seems Nicole is also enjoying her new role and being in the UK: “I am loving it so much that I am thinking about moving here next year. I am having a great time here.”

Nicole hugs James Arthur, who is one of the favourites to win the competition.
She could of course add to her success on the programme if one of her boys wins it. Nicole is the only judge to have more than one act left with both Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur still in the competition.
As for who will join the 34-year-old star next year? It’s anybody’s guess! Gary Barlow has previously voiced concerns about the credibility of the show while Tulisa Contostavlos is reportedly in the bad books and Louis Walsh could make way if bosses want a completely new panel.
