The man behind popular television show Shameless has revealed that it will end next year.
Writer and producer Paul Abbot has said that the next series, which will be the eleventh, will be the last.
Gallagher, played by David Threlfall, and his scandalous family will take to the small screen for the last time at the beginning of next year exactly 10 years after the programme began.

One of the more interesting scenes from the show starring James McEvoy.
Speaking about the conclusion, Abbott said: “Its 10th anniversary seems a fitting time to shut the book on Shameless… We’ve had an absolute ball making this stuff up for a living.”
And while the programme that made him famous hasn’t finished yet, Abbott is already thinking about his next project: “Now I’m off to build the next whatever-it-is.”
