Well, as it turns out, one in five Irish workplaces in Ireland now allow pets in the office.
Stunning news to hear on National Pet Day, to be honest.
Research conducted by CV-Library has shown that some employers are now letting their workers bring their pets into the office due to the fact that they ease stress and actually make people work better.
Lovely.
However, the data also revealed that not everyone is so delighted by these adorable additions to the office.
While 46 percent of women think that having pets in the office makes them more productive, only 29 percent of men think the same.
Similarly, over 40 percent of men have accused pets of being "distracting" in the workplace.
Bit rude.
This gender pet gap is further exemplified by men - 19 percent of whom go so far as to say that pets in the office are "annoying."
Thankfully, that hasn't stopped people bringing them in though.
87 percent of office pets are dogs, with the rest being cats and rabbits.
Managing director of CV-Library, Lee Biggins, has said that ever-growing trend of office pets is shown clearly through the company's research.
“With one in two households owning a pet, it’s clear to see the attraction and convenience of bringing them with you to work.”
