Sam Bailey’s future in music is up in the air as Syco decide to part ways with the singer.
X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell has decided not to re-sign the 2013 winner just 14 months after Bailey was brought to the final by mentor Sharon Osbourne.
A spokesperson for Cowell’s record label confirmed the news: “Sam Bailey is no longer with Syco”.
Sam secured the coveted Christmas no.1 spot with her winning single, a cover of Demi Lovato’s ‘Skyscraper’.
Her debut album The Power of Love, which featured a mix of new tracks and cover songs, was released in March and went Gold in the UK.
The Mum-of-three revealed in December that her contract was up and that she was currently in a “cooling-off period” before renegotiations with her record label.
A source from Syco told the Daily Mail: “Everyone wishes Sam all the best for the future. After discussion, it was just felt it was the right time to follow different paths”.
