PIC – Joe Caslin Has Shared A Powerful Post About Last Year’s Marriage Equality Mural

Ellen Tannam

It has been a whole year since Joe Caslin created one of the most beautiful emblems of the marriage equality referendum with his mural on George’s St in Dublin.

This mural meant so much to so many people, and the emotions it sparked were felt countrywide. This beautiful piece of art symbolised the universal nature of love, and it spoke to many of us.

Caslin has shared a throwback of sorts on his Instagram account and it is just gorgeous.

The caption reads:
“YES.

This night, exactly one year ago, I stood at the bottom of that wall full of anxiety but with the determination to create something powerful and dignified.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed in its creation and installation. I would also like to thank the thousands of you who shared and posted images of the piece, and to those of you who created your very own version, thank you✌?️ Illustration by @rebeccahendin”
