Turns out a new year brings an increase in online dating, so much so, that dating experts are expecting a 37% increase as people return to work.
According to The Irish Sun, January 3rd is the most popular day of the year for online dating. A study, which was conducted by the dating app Match, found that people are most likely to search for suitable partners on their first day back in the office.
While there is a surge in online dating at the start of the month, it takes on average nearly two weeks to set a first date with January 16th being the most popular date.
Jenny Mitchell, of online dating app Match, said:
“With the Christmas festivities over, January is the time many people embrace a fresh start and get back into the dating game.
There is no mistletoe or Christmas parties to break the ice, so dating apps are a fun and easy way to find out if there is someone out there for you.
And with more people likely to be online on January 3 than at any other time this year, your chances of success will be even higher.”
