Prince Harry and fiancée Meghan Markle have just made their first official public appearance since announcing their engagement.

The couple travelled to Nottingham to visit the Nottingham Contemporary which is hosting a Terrence Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair today. The Terrence Higgins Trust is the largest voluntary sector provider of HIV and sexual health services in the UK.

This appearance officially launches their six-month tour of the UK, which aims to give Meghan an insight into the country before they get married at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

While in Nottingham, they did a meet and greet with hundreds of people outside the event.

They waved to the crowd and also took time to shake hands and chat with some of the locals, who gathered in their hundreds to catch a glimpse of the newly engaged couple.

Meghan went for a long navy double-breasted coat, over a cream skirt and black polo-neck jumper. She matched it with black boots and a purple Strathberry handbag.

The couple then made their way into the Nottingham Contemporary Exhibition Centre where they were shown around.
