If anyone is to prove the impossible is, in fact, possible it's Limerick man Mark Quinn.
Climber Quinn was the youngest person born in the Irish Republic to conquer Mount Everest in 2011. But he's not stopping there...
Mark is in the final preparations for his next challenge, climbing two of the world's highest mountains on a single expedition.
His summer expedition begins tomorrow, Thursday, 20th June as he sets off on his two month journey to conquer K4 and K5.
There are 14 mountains in the world higher than eight thousand metres. Only an estimated 33 people have climbed all fourteen and Irish mountaineers as a group have climbed seven of them. Mark is attempting to add two more to the list for Ireland.
If he's successful, Mark will be the first Irish person to climb K4 and K5 and also the first Irish person to climb two of the world’s highest mountains on a single journey.
Mark said, along with the tricolour, he's bringing a packet of Cheese & Onion Taytos and Irish jelly beans to the peak.
“I just can’t wait to get going at this stage, no more training, my feet will finally be on the ground!” explained Mark.
Mark climbed Mount Everest in June 2011 aged 27 and raised thousands of euro for the Shane Geoghegan Trust.
As he embarks on his next challenge, Mark has chosen two charities to benefit from his expedition; Limerick based Headstrong and Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders).
