The ‘Can’t Stop Now’ campaign is raising vital funds for thousands of athletes in Ireland and it needs your help.

The people of Ireland are being urged to use Revolut to donate vital funds to the ‘Can’t Stop Now’ campaign on behalf of Special Olympics Ireland.

Having had to cancel its annual face to face cash collection day in April due to the Covid-19 pandemic, one of its main sources of fundraising, Special Olympics Ireland is focussing on digital and text donations to help raise much-needed funds for some 8,000 children and adults with an intellectual disability across the island of Ireland.

This year, for the very first time, members of the public can donate through Revolut, the financial management app with over one million users in Ireland.

Donating to Special Olympics Ireland through Revolut couldn’t be easier; all you have to do is follow the simple steps below:

  • Open your Revolut app
  • Tap your initials/image at the bottom right >> Widgets >> Donations
  • Select Special Olympics Ireland
  • Hit Donate

Donating via Revolut is one of three ways members of the public can donate to Special Olympics Ireland via their computer or mobile device.

You can also text ‘Athlete’ to donate €4 (a minimum of €3.26 will go to Special Olympics Ireland) or visit specialolympics.ie to make a donation or organise a virtual fundraising event.

A number of suggestions for fundraising ideas are available here and everyone who raises over €25 will receive a free ‘Can’t Stop’ Now t-shirt, as modelled by Connacht Rugby stars Sean O’Brien, Oisin Dowling, Peter Robb and Tom Farrell in the image at the top of the page.

Led by Hollywood star Colin Farrell, the ‘Can’t Stop Now’ campaign aims to raise €500,000 in total for athletes throughout Ireland.

Funds raised will allow athletes throughout the country to get back to the pool, pitch and court when it is safe to do so.

To meet their friends again. To learn new skills and gain confidence and show the world what they can do all over again.

The only thing they can’t do is Stop!

Visit www.cantstopnow.ie for ways to support.
