This combination may sound a little strange but there’s a lot of nutrition packed into flaxseeds.
About a tablespoon of ground flaxseed will add essential vitamins and minerals to your smoothie, pairing nicely with a variety of juices and berries – and it’s an excellent source of fiber.
Ingredients:
- 2 tbspns ground flaxseeds
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice (bits or no bits, up to you!)
- 1/2 cup non-fat natural yoghurt
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1 banana, peeled and sliced
Method:
- Place all of your ingredients into a smoothie maker/blender and blitz until smooth. Best enjoyed on the day.
*Note: Health food stores usually sell ground flaxseed, but if you buy them whole you can grind them before adding to your smoothie.
