In our minds, Reese Witherspoon is synonymous with two words and those words, ladies are ‘rom’ and ‘com.’ Oh yes. So understandably, we were pretty happy when we heard the following news.
The Irish Independent reports that Reese has landed yet another lead role in yet another romantic comedy (and suddenly everything in the world is okay again, yay!).
Ms Witherspoon has already appeared in several rom-coms, including Sweet Home Alabama and Four Christmases, and according to reports, she will also take up the role of producer on her latest rom-com endeavour The Beard.
Absolutely nothing is known about the plot of The Beard but we’re inclined to assume that maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with facial hair or chin fuzz (we’re not exactly sure…what do you think?).
Reese is currently expecting her third child and at the minute, she’s busy working on a drama film called Devil’s Knot, which focusses on the controversy surrounding the West Memphis 3 murder. Serious stuff.
In the film, Reese plays the part of the mother of a murder victim and stars alongside Colin Firth, who plays a private investigator who claims that the West Memphis 3 are actually innocent of the crime.
Okay, so we have to say that we’re kind of happy to see Reese Witherspoon back in a rom-com. We feel like it’s been way too long since we giggled and laughed at her crazy love-struck antics (ala Reese in Legally Blonde).
In conclusion, we’re happy that Reese is back and to celebrate we figured it was only fitting that we shared the Reese With-her-spoon meme with you – we love it!
