Earlier this week, we posted a story about a ten-year-old boy called Colin who didn’t want to have a birthday party because he thought he didn’t have any friends.
Colin was diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder and another disorder similar to autism and Asperger syndrome. Because of this, he often acts out and finds it difficult to socialize. He eats lunch alone every day in school ” because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone in the office.”
His mother took to Facebook and set up a page called “Happy Birthday Colin” so that people could send Colin some birthday messages and positive thoughts.
The response she received has been absolutely phenomenal. Below are some of the pictures of her many trips to the post office in order to pick up cards and presents for Colin. The page now has 1.9 million likes!
And more…
The page has been inundated with well-wishers and even some video messages of support like the one below!
Colin’s birthday is not until March 9th so you still have time to send him some birthday wishes! The Facebook page is here.
It’s all still a secret but we can’t wait to see Colin’s reaction!
