A video of Rod Stewart has caused major backlash online because it appears to shows him pretending to re-enact a beheading.

The star, and his wife Penny Lancaster, are currently on holidays in Abu Dhabi and took a trip to the desert. While there, they were featured in a video which people believed was a re-enactment of a beheading, particularly one that would be carried out by ISIS.

Rod has tried to clarify the situation by saying that it was a re-enactment of Game of Thrones and nothing more.

The statement reads:

“From re-enacting the Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game Of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show.

Understandably, this has been misinterpreted and I send my deepest apologies to those who have been offended.”
