Samantha Will Make An Appearance In The Carrie Diaries

Any fans of the Sex and the City series have always been a little curious about how Samantha and Carrie first became friends. It has been hinted at that the pair did meet during the 80's and we know that Samantha was really the first out of her permanent friends, but how has never really been confirmed.

Now the Carrie Diaries have confirmed that they will introduce the Samantha character into the next series. The show has been picked up for another series by CW.

Samantha will be introduced as the cousin of the school mean girl Donna LaDonna, according to TV Line.

AnnaSophia Robb, who plays Carrie in the series, told TV Line that: "I'm really, really excited. I had to keep it a secret, but I think it's going to be so much fun. I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes."

The show, which will return in the Autumn, have not yet confirmed who has been cast as the young Samantha.
