The American gymnast was once again one of the stars of the Olympics as she won three golds and a silver at Paris 2024.
This haul took her Olympic medal tally to 11 (seven golds, two silvers, two bronzes), the second-most for a female gymnast in the history of the games.
Now, Biles birth mother has spoken of her hope that the Olympian can forgive her for putting her up for adoption as a child.
Shanon Biles, 52, put Simone and her siblings ip for adoption as she struggled with drug and alcohol addiction.
When she was six-years-olds, Simone and her younger sister Adria were adopted by their grandparents, Ronald and Nellie, in Houston, while the Olympian’s other siblings went to live with Ronald’s sister in Cleveland.
Their mother told the Mail: “I would like to make amends with Simone personally – I’m just waiting for her and Adria.
“I speak to Adria more than I speak to Simone. I would just ask her to forgive me. Can we move forward? Don’t judge me on my past. Let’s move forward.”
Shanon Biles is now sober and works as a grocery store cashier. She said she has Simone's number but is leaving it up to her daughter to decide to make contact.
