The band’s Kris Novoselic’s bass is seen being trashed by the late frontman Kurt Cobain in the iconic prom scene.
Novoselic bought the guitar in 1991 in a pawn shop knowing that he was going to smash it to pieces but we’re sure the musician would have tried to salvage the smithereens had he known it would it would go for such a massive amount today but it was actually a teenage extra who spied the opportunity.
Christies estimate that the guitar will go for at least €18,000 (£15,000) and are expecting the guitar to reach in excess of €31,000 (£25,000) when it goes up for sale on November 29th in an entertainment memorabilia auction which also includes Indiana Jones’s whip used in the Last Crusade and a school yearbook with a personal message written by the legendary singer Bob Dylan.
