If your iPhone is as slow as Christmas, this tip will make your day

It's worth a try!

Cathy Donohue

Don’t get us wrong, the iPhone is a great invention but it’s also the source of much frustration.

Like when you really need to make a call and your battery dies as you press the all-important button or you desperately need to check something on the internet but everything is running at a snail’s pace.

That could be about to change though as there’s a really simple trick that can help your phone to run like clockwork.

This isn’t a new tip by any means but that doesn’t mean it’s any less useful.

Marc Forrest, an Apple whiz with a large Twitter following, imparted the advice to his followers last year and now the tweet is doing the rounds again.

Here’s what you have to do.

When on the home screen, hold down the power button until you see the message ‘slide to power off’.

Next step is to hold the home button for five seconds until your app screen is in view.

The thinking behind this process is that it clears the ‘working memory’ and in doing so, interrupts anything that might be curtailing your device’s speed.

A super easy way of speeding up your iPhone withing seconds.

Now, it won’t fix any serious issues but it is a good short-term solution for an iPhone that’s just not doing what it’s told.
