Spoiler Alert- Hopes Dashed: Irish X Factor Contestant Booted Off

Reports have suggested that Dubliner Melanie McCabe has been booted off the singing competition.

Apparently, judge Nicole Scherzinger decides not to take her through to the live shows.

This means it will be fourth time unlucky for the talented singer, who has previously said this is her last attempt at X Factor.

She had been originally tipped to do well and last week impressed judges with her version of Katy Perry’s The One That Got Away.

Melanie also got to the judges houses stage in 2011 and was sent home by singer Kelly Rowland, who was a judge on that particular series.

The 20-year old spoke to Ireland AM about the cruel twist in X Factor boot camp this year.

“It was really, really hard and especially because I was last on.

“I was watching it all happen so by the time I got on people had got their seats, people had lost their seats and I’d seen it all happen. It was so cruel and people were upset.

“I hated that because at the end of the day we’re all human, we all have our dreams and you’re here taking someone’s dream away. It’s a horrible thing to have to do.”
