Starbucks Customer Left Insulted By Message On His Cup

We would feel exactly the same!

A Starbucks customer in Florida placed an order for a grande white mocha but wasn’t prepared for the accompanying message.

Printed on a receipt were the words “Diabetes here I come” with the customer speaking to CBS News about the incident.

He said that he works near the office and a fellow employee did a coffee run.

When he picked up his cup, he noticed that his had a message and it was even more upsetting because two of his sisters have type 1 diabetes.

“That first word just automatically brought the picture of both sisters in my head, and I was taken aback” explained the customer in question.

A mocha of this size is believed to be equal to 470 calories and in response to the note, the customer returned the cup with a reply which read: “2 of my sisters are diabetic, so … not funny”.

Starbucks has released a statement regarding the incident: “We strive to provide an inclusive and positive experience for our customers, and we’re disappointed to learn of this incident.

“We are working directly with the customer to apologize for his experience, and with our partners (employees) to ensure this does not happen again”.
