Strangers describe their best moment in life and there is a definite common theme

Alice Murray

No, I’m not crying you are…

Okay, that’s a lie I’m balling but for a very good reason.

January is a great time for reflecting.

Whether 2016 was your best yet or a year you would rather forget it’s still important to take the time to appreciate the 365 days that have just passed.

What’s your favourite memory of 2016? Maybe a family holiday? A last minute trip to the beach? Or a reunion with an old friend. Whatever it is the chances are you’re not remembering the night you spent watching Netflix in bed or scrolling through your Facebook newsfeed.

A  gorgeous video posted by travel website Contiki today highlights the importance of making memories and seeing the world.

They asked a group of people to describe the year/moment they remember the best and the answers were fascinating and varied.

One man describes the year he travelled across 19 countries while another lady recounts the year she met her daughter.

It really makes you think about what’s important in life.

Go on, admit it you’re crying, aren’t you? I think it’s time to start planning some adventures for 2017.
