We have been glued to our screens watching joyous jives, sexy salsas and terrific tangos but last night Strictly Come Dancing came to an end. And what an end it was!
Olympic gymnast Louis Smith lifted the Glitterball trophy after he and partner Flavia Cacace performed an incredible showdance and almost-perfect Charleston.
The 23-year-old looked taken aback when his name was called but joked: “I can finally say I won something in the year 2012.”
Louis and Flavia didn't get the highest score but they won the trophy.
Not that it came easy. Louis and Flavia had to pull out all the stops for their showdance which was simply breath-taking and we’re not just saying that because he was topless during it!
The pair wowed the audience and judges with an intense dance which showcased Louis’ strength and agility.
A jaw-dropping moment in the couple's showdance which was very different.
But Kimberley Walsh and Denise Van Outen pushed him to the very end as Dani Harmer was voted out before the final dance.
Unfortunately for the girls the final decision was not up to the judges, who scored them both highly, as the public picked Louis as their champion.
Speaking about how much he owes to Flavia, Louis said: “She has been an absolute legend… She is the nicest person I have ever met.”
Funny, we were thinking that about him. Well we haven’t met him but he is still a legend and seems to be a very nice person as well!
