A student launched a bra boycott in her school for a fairly good reason

Do you wear a bra or nah?

Some people do, some people don’t.

On the one hand, bras can make you feel more comfortable in your own body (especially if you’ve got big boobs). And on the other, they can be restricting, uncomfortable, and even a bit pointless, really.

One young woman who recently decided not to wear a bra was Lizzy Martinez.

Lizzy is a 17-year-old American high school student who was recently told to put plasters over her nipples because they were “distracting.”

As a response, Lizzy decided to hold a #bracott – or bra boycott – in her school.

She made posters and everything.

The protest suggested that students either “don’t wear a bra,” wear “bandaids over shirt,” or wear “clothing with a message” to support the cause.

Lizzy’s protest received a lot of attention online, with many applauding the teenager for fighting for her right not to wear a bra.

However, others argued that the student may have been violating the school’s dress code.

Another student said that nowhere in the high school’s code did it state that female students had to wear bras.

Lizzy’s mum, Kari, also told local publication the Brandeton Herald: “We should not treat a girl like this because of where her fat cells decided to distribute genetically.”

People have been tweeting their support for the protest over the past few days.
