The way you sleep could determine what dreams you have

The research revealed some very interesting results.

Sleep.

Now that we’re on day two of the post-Christmas back to work buzz, duvet days are a distant memory.

There’s no more getting up at 3 o’clock and you have to be in bed at a decent hour so you can function properly at work.

Interestingly, there’s a study which says that the way we sleep can have an effect on the type of dreams we have.

The research, published on Van Winkle , found that 40 percent of people who slept on their left side experienced nightmares but only 14.6 per cent of people who slept on their right side were affected by bad dreams.

The study focused on 63 people (45 males and 18 females) and found that people sleeping on their right side said they had happier dreams, linked to feelings of ‘relief and/or safety’ and also had a better quality of sleep.

In another study, Dr. Calvin Kai-Ching Yu of Hong Shu Yan University looked at the sleeping habits of 670 adults.

He came to the conclusion that people who slept facing down had the most ‘vivid’ dreams.

Some people had dreams where they were tied up and/or locked up and other people who slept on their fronts said they had dreams where they were romanced by a celebrity.

Who knew?!
