Stunning light exhibition installed in Dublin to encourage Darkness Into Light registration

A stunning light exhibition installed in Dublin will encourage people to sign up for this year’s Darkness Into Light.

The Festival of Light, currently lighting up Dundrum Town Centre, will tomorrow become a means of encouraging many shoppers to get involved in Pieta House’s flagship event for raising suicide awareness and reducing the stigma around depression.

Those who are interested in joining this year’s walk on Saturday May 11 can sign up with Darkness Into Light reps at the beautiful light installation this Thursday between 7 – 9pm.

The exhibition includes three interactive and sensory provoking light pieces that the public are free to take photos of, play with, or simply observe.

Dundrum Town Centre’s general manager Don Nugent said:

“We are particularly proud that the Festival of Light has given us the opportunity to partner with Pieta and Darkness Into Light this Thursday evening.

“They provide much needed support across [the city] and continue to raise awareness around suicide and self-harm and where friends and family can get support and advice.”

Since 2009, Darkness into Light has grown significantly in terms of numbers, walks, and support with over 200,000 people taking part in events last year across the country and abroad.

This year’s walks will take place in Ireland and beyond on Saturday 11 May starting at 4.15am.

Dundrum’s Festival of Light will run until Saturday, March 30.
