Ah god.

Too much.

Sue Perkins has posted a lovely tribute to her late dog, Parker, on Twitter.

The former GBBO presenter took to social media yesterday to share the news that her dog had passed away.

She sent two tweets and included a picture of Parker looking all adorable by the seaside. She called him “one half of my favourite ever double act,” as she bade him farewell.

Sue also joked that if there is a God, he’d want to be “keeping an eye on his roast chicken round about now” and included the hashtag ‘Parker.’

Too much.

The initial tweet received over 5,000 likes on Twitter as well as a string of replies from followers who had also dealt with losing a beloved pet.

One user said they said goodbye to “our Percy” a week ago, including their own picture of a dog.

Another said that they hoped the memories of Parker would keep Sue smiling.

The presenter only recently spoke about how “joyous” having a dog made her.

Earlier this year on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, she told about the death of a previous dog, Pickles, who had to be put down in 2013.

“When I got a dog I couldn’t believe how joyous it was. My dogs helped me through the darkest time and when my dog died, a bit of me died.

There’s another dog in my life now, this big, silly, rescue mutt. It’s just brilliant to give an animal a second chance. A dog is a great thing.”
