
Knew it! According to this study women DO need more sleep than men
So it turns out women need more sleep than men and there’s a scientific explanation in case you ever need to explain it to your other half.
A study, conducted by Duke University in the US, has revealed that not getting enough sleep leads to more physical and mental consequences for women.

The experiment, led by clinical psychologist Michael Breus, assessed the sexes’ needs for sleep by looking at how they dealt with insufficient rest.
Speaking about the findings, he said: "We found that women had more depression, more anger, and more hostility early in the morning."
As well as biological factors, it is believed that women need more rest due to mental energy expenditure.

In other words, the female of the species needs more sleep because they use their brains more and multitask.
So if you're in bed, why not take an extra five minutes or so to relax... you need it after all.
