The Latest iOS Update Has Some Great Features

If you get sore eyes using your iPhone or iPad, your prayers are answered!

Yesterday Apple released its latest iOS update in a surprise drop after a relatively quiet few months for the company, and with it comes three very handy new features for your iPhone or iPad.

Improvements to 3D Touch

Yes, it’s a cool feature and your phone recognising different levels of pressure is great but it’s often patchy. However the new OS has changed all that. According to Forbes, iOS  will be extending to the new ‘Quick Shortcuts’ for the App store, Compass, Health and Weather. This means you can use the 3D touch function instinctively, knowing it will work across all apps.

Education Upgrades

For students, this upgrade will be really beneficial. A new feature called ‘Shared iPad’ lets students log onto any iPad and access their schoolbooks and documents, and the iPad will show the students ID photo to avoid mixups during classes.

The new ‘Classroom’ app looks great for teachers, allowing you to control all the iPads in your classroom and monitor a student’s work remotely from your own iPad, and ‘Apple School Manager’ is a new organising tool for educators.

Night Shift

This is possibly the most beneficial update in a long time. Have you noticed it’s harder to sleep after using your device? This is because of the blue light emitted from many apps, which effects the hormone in your body that induces sleep, melatonin.

The new update will use the clock and location services to adjust the colours in your display the later in the day it gets. It means better sleep and less strain on your eyes.
