The Nominations Are Out for the Emmy Awards

The 64th Emmy Nominations are officially out and already it’s easy to see the categories that are going to be hotly contested.

Mad Men will be hoping to scoop their fifth ‘Best Drama Series’ award but they will have to fight off Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones and Homeland to bag the title.

Homeland stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis who are also up for solo awards. 

But that’s not the only exciting category. Homeland’s Claire Danes is up against Glenn Close from Damages and Julianna Margulies from The Good Wife for the title of ‘Best Actress in a Drama Series.’

Her co-star Damian Lewis also has a heck of a fight on his hands for the title of ‘Best Actor in a Drama Series.’ He’s up against Jon Hamm.

It’s not just the drama categories that will be worth watching. The ‘Best Comedy Series’ will also be a tough one to call with The Big Bang Theory, Girls, 30 Rock, Veep and Modern Family all competing for the title.

Tina Fey and Zooey Deschanel are just a couple of the women who have gotten the nod for ‘Best Actress in a Comedy Series.’
