However, this is a new one on us.
A group of lads from Salt Lake City have posed for their Tinder profile pictures in IKEA, pretending that they were just chilling at home in their amazing abodes.
Imgur user Kevin Routson uploaded the snaps of the young men at the Swedish furniture giant, and the photos quickly started doing the rounds.
When it comes to online dating Kevin explained why these photos are so much more effective than selfies.
He said: "It's all about catching their attention."
However, he did admit that it was all tongue in cheek, with the lads poking fun at themselves by posing alongside some very obvious price tags.
'They were just doing these poses and just acting like idiots in IKEA and we snapped some photos and they just turned out to be great.
'The lighting in there is just perfect for photos."
While we're not sure if the snaps passed the swipe test on Tinder, some Imgur users were definitely impressed, with one commenter writing, "I'll take the one reading the upside down book. He looks like a keeper" and another confirming, "I'd right swipe."
So there ya go, if all else fails - head out the m50 and horse yourself up on a Lövbacken.
